FAQ
How is reading time calculated?
It divides the word count by a reading speed (200 words per minute by default) to estimate silent reading time, and uses about 130 words per minute for speaking time.
Can I change the reading speed?
Yes. Enter your own words-per-minute value to match a particular audience, such as a slower speed for technical material.
What counts as a word?
Any run of non-space characters separated by spaces counts as a word, which matches how most word counters and reading estimates work.
