TikTok Font Generator

Generate styled text for your TikTok bio and nickname in nineteen Unicode styles. TikTok allows only 80 characters in a bio, the tightest limit of any major platform, so the page flags which styles waste that budget and which do not.

Whether you call it tiktok font generator or tiktok fonts, this free tool handles it instantly in your browser.

Where styled text actually works on TikTok

Styled text is Unicode characters, not a font, so whether it survives depends on the field you paste it into. TikTok treats these fields differently.

Support for Unicode styled text across TikTok fields, including character limits.
FieldStyled textLimitNotes
BioWorks80 charsThe shortest bio limit of the major platforms, so wide and spaced styles eat the budget fast.
Nickname / display nameWorks30 charsStyled characters work.
UsernameRejected—Letters, numbers, underscores and periods only.
Video captionsPartly—Displays correctly, but styled text is not picked up by TikTok search or the recommendation system.

Before you use it anywhere that matters

A screen reader announces styled characters one at a time by their Unicode name, so a styled bio can be unreadable to anyone using one. Search engines and in-app search generally will not match styled text either. For a display name that is usually an acceptable trade; for anything you want found or read aloud, it is not.

How it works

  • Your text is converted to Unicode characters that already carry the style, so TikTok displays them with no font support needed.
  • They work in the bio, which allows 80 characters, and in the nickname, which allows 30.
  • The username is restricted to letters, numbers, underscores and periods, and rejects styled characters.
  • TikTok’s bio limit is the shortest of the major platforms, so the spaced and wide styles are rarely practical there.

Use cases

Style a TikTok bio within the 80-character limit.
Set a styled nickname, which is the display name above your bio.
Add a styled line to a video caption as a heading.
Make a link label in your bio stand out.

Eighty characters changes the calculation

TikTok gives you less bio space than any other major platform: 80 characters against Instagram’s 150 and X’s 160. That makes the choice of style more consequential than it looks, because the styles are not all equally economical.

Seventeen of the nineteen styles here are one-for-one substitutions and cost nothing — a styled bio holds exactly as much as a plain one. The spaced style inserts a genuine space after every character, roughly halving what fits. The wide style counts as one character each but renders about twice as broad, so it overflows visually long before it hits the limit.

Nickname and username are different fields

The username is the @ name in your URL, restricted to letters, numbers, underscores and periods. It will never take styled characters. The nickname is the larger display name above your bio, capped at 30 characters, and it accepts anything.

When people say they want a TikTok font, the nickname and bio are almost always what they mean, and both work.

Keep captions plain

Video captions are a different matter from your profile. TikTok reads caption text to work out what a video is about and which searches it should answer, and styled characters are opaque to that. A caption in script characters is decorative text that tells the platform nothing.

If you want a styled look in a caption, use it for a single heading line and write the rest — particularly anything keyword-bearing — in ordinary characters.

FAQ

How long can a TikTok bio be?

Eighty characters, which is the shortest bio limit among the major platforms — Instagram allows 150 and X allows 160. Styled characters count as one each, so styling itself costs nothing, but the spaced style inserts a real space after every letter and will consume the whole budget in about forty letters.

Why does TikTok reject styled characters in my username?

The username is part of your profile URL, so TikTok limits it to letters, numbers, underscores and periods. The nickname — the display name shown above your bio — is a separate field with a 30-character limit, and that one accepts styled characters freely.

Does styled text in my bio affect whether I get recommended?

Not the recommendation system directly, which works from video signals rather than your bio. It does affect search: TikTok matches text queries literally, so keywords written in styled characters will not match what people type. If you want to be found for a niche, keep that word in ordinary characters.

Can I use styled text in video captions?

It displays, but it is a poor choice. Captions are one of the strongest text signals TikTok has for understanding and surfacing a video, and styled characters are not readable as words by that system. Keep captions plain and use styling in your bio instead.

Why do squared and circled styles look broken on TikTok?

TikTok renders in the system font, and the squared and circled alphabets are among the least widely supported Unicode blocks — many Android devices have no glyphs for them and show boxes. On TikTok specifically those two styles are worth avoiding; bold, italic and script are safe.
