Looping the top like l, which turns t into a different letter entirely.
Fix: t retraces its stem. Only b, f, h, k and l loop.
Crossing too high, at the headline rather than the midline.
Fix: The crossbar sits at the midline, roughly halfway up the stem.
Making t as tall as l or h.
Fix: t stops slightly below the headline β it is the one "three-quarter height" letter.

About the letter t
t is distinctive for being the only lowercase letter of intermediate height β taller than the x-height group but stopping short of the headline that b, d, f, h, k and l reach. Writers who take t all the way up lose the contrast that makes "th" and "tt" readable.
The crossbar is added last, after the word or at least after the letter, and that is where errors creep in: crossing too high turns the letter into something closer to a capital T, and forgetting it entirely leaves a tall i. In "little" and "attitude" the double-t is often crossed with a single shared bar, which is conventional and perfectly legible.
Because "th" is the most frequent letter pair in English, the t exit stroke gets more use than almost any other join in the alphabet. It is worth making sure it leaves cleanly at the baseline rather than trailing off the crossbar.

These letters share the same base motion as t, so practising them as a group is faster than taking them alphabetically.
