Pointing the valley, so u reads as v.
Fix: The bottom of u is a smooth curve; v is pointed.
Flattening the shape until it reads as n.
Fix: u is open at the top and rounded at the bottom; n is the reverse.

u and n are the same shape rotated, and that is the only real difficulty with either. In connected writing at speed both tend to flatten toward a middle ground that reads as neither, and the word "unusual" is a standard drill precisely because it forces the alternation repeatedly.
The valley must be rounded. A pointed valley is a v, and because v exits high while u exits low, the error also breaks the following join β so one slip produces two visible problems.
Capital U is simply the lowercase scaled to full height, making it one of the most intuitive cursive capitals, and unlike G, I, J, Q and Z it is rarely misread.
